Why is TyreAid so unique?

Our system is the strongest TPMS for Trucking

Optional Low Tire remote messaging, directly to any cell phone or Email

This system is:

  • Independent.  No need to wire into an existing GPS or other devices.

  • Built-in. No extra wires or antennas, with quick installation

  • Effortless programming. No need for reading long manuals or contacting customer service. Just send a message to our server with up to five phone numbers or emails which you want it to message. Phone numbers and emails can be changed anytime.

  • Repeated message. There will be a reminder at a set customer requested interval until tire pressure is restored. This way the underinflated tire on the truck cannot be ignored.

  • Battery-Operated. A slow leak will be alerted even when the truck is parked. Often slow leaks are detected a few hours after the vehicle is parked and the tires have cooled down. The GPS transmitter battery will have power for 2 days even after the main power is switched off, and the batteries will be recharged as soon as vehicle power is back on. The battery standby time can be extended up to 6 months by external batteries which may be useful for offsite parked trailers.

  • No Monthly Fees.  You only pay a small annual server maintenance fee.

Our system works in most parts of the world where there is cell phone coverage, but our transmitters are, in some cases, country-specific to match the cell phone network. Please check with us for location information. Tested in USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia.

Continuous air balancing (duals) with continuous pressure monitoring of each tire in one seamless design, introducing a brand-new industry standard

"Three major capabilities rolled into ONE product:  Unit tracking, air pressure balancing and monitoring"
"Triple the value for your fleet"

Problem:  Every mile there is a battle going on between your dual tires as they travel down the road. This “tire battle” intensifies the more air pressure differs between the inner and outer tire.  It is in this situation when premature tire wear & fatigue occurs. The greater the difference in pressure the greater the wear & tear on each tire. In fact, most of your tire wear comes from this pressure difference. Just a small 5 psi difference between the dual wheels will cause the less inflated tire to be "dragged" 13 feet for every mile driven. (0.35 bar difference each 1 km = 2.5 m dragged) This can increase tire wear by 20% or more and it will substantially increase the rolling resistance which has a direct impact on fuel consumption. The tire with the greater air pressure takes on more of the load and this can have a detrimental effect on its useful life.  Since the tires will actually be at different temperatures during driving (due to the inner being by the hot brakes and the outer getting a cool air breeze), continuously equalizing (air balancing) is extremely important. The equalizing is working all the time unless one of the tires has a leak and the pressure drops below the initial target pressure, a condition which will cause the automatic shut off valve to close. This automatic shut off valve is activated by the tire pressure and will not require a rapid loss to close. It is fully adjustable to close at any pressure but we recommend to have the closing set at 4 psi below the recommended tire pressure. Several tire manufacturers has pointed out to us running the equal tire pressure is much more important than running a perfect tire pressure.

TyreAid is the Solution

Never a false "low tire" alert!

Only TPMS system on the market with built-in ambient temperature compensation.

On a cold morning, our device will give no false alerts. The tire pressure should always be checked at "normal" ambient temperature. When there is an ambient temperature drop, the tire pressure responds accordingly with about a 2.5 psi increase or decrease for every 10⁰F change, (0.3 bar for 10⁰C).  Given such a temperature drop, all electronic TPMS systems will generate a low tire pressure alert. This is in reality a false alert since the tire pressure returns to normal when the tire warms up during the first few miles of driving. Our system measures the ambient temperature compared to the tire temperature. Without this compensation, false alerts would send a signal to the driver and central office (if GPS) when, in fact, he could have a seriously underinflated tire but would not react since he would "write it off" as a false alert due to cold weather. Many false alerts and soon no one would react when the pressure is actually low because of "crying wolf" too many times.

Yard Checks – Quick Job

Parked vehicle tires in your terminal/yard can be checked with our handheld Receiver in minutes. 1,000 tires can be checked in less than 5 minutes just by walking around your terminal yard or equipment locations.

  • No more thumping tires with baseball bat.  1000 tires can be checked in less than 5 minutes.  This will significantly reduce your road calls due to tire "blowouts".

  • There is no need to have the ignition or main power "on" in the truck while maintenance personnel are checking tire pressures. The fleet can be securely locked and the main power switch off and the remote receiver will still be able to monitor all trucks. This allows your maintenance personnel to check the trucks without entering the Tractor cab to switch the power on or to turn the main power switch on by the batteries. This adds convenience and speed to the tire checking process while keeping the Tractors locked to avoid theft.

  • Works on parked tractors/trailers. Due to our own power source the tractor/trailer does not need to be coupled for the TyreAid to work properly. This means that all tire pressures can be verified when your equipment is parked and not in use. Whenever a trailer is hooked up it is much more costly to repair or replace a tire. This normally causes delays, overtime for the drivers, and potential Customer Service issues with late deliveries or pickups.

Fail-safe hose/connectors with Safety Valve

One of the most important components and often times the “weakest link” for TPMS systems that require external hoses are the air hoses and connectors.  We have designed, make, & assemble our own hose and connectors. Using the same material race cars use for brake lines which is a stainless steel braided Teflon hose which can handle the heat and has a burst pressure of 2600 psi (180 bar).  Our hoses and connectors are a major strength of the TyreAid system.  Our hose & connectors make all the difference in the reliability and durability of this product.

Valve stems

All valve stems are standardized and are designed to hold the pressure in the tire and to fill the air in the tire. They are not designed to withstand extra weight caused by hoses or add-on pressure sensing and transmitting valve caps (therefore any valve caps type transmitter has to be extremely light and limits therefore the design to a non heavy-duty construction with small batteries and limited transmitting ranges and endurance). The weakest point of the valve stem is where the threads are at the air inlet. This part cannot be modified since there are standardized threads on the inside for the valve core and the outside. for extension, air inflators etc.

The TyreAid solution incorporates a “safety valve” with triple functionality.

- It reinforces the valve stem by a layer of metal around the weakest point of the valve stem.

- It has a built-in one-way air restrictor. Air flows in a normal rate while outflow is restricted to about 10 psi (0.7 bar) out in 15 minutes for the average truck tire.  If the hose would be damaged, the safety valve would prevent the tire from a rapid air loss.

- It changes the valve stem threads to a larger and more robust thread size which also eliminates use of lesser quality hoses. Only our high-quality hoses and connectors fits the TyreAid.

Connectors

Another issue with any application with air hoses is tightening the hoses. Finger tight ...  is that enough?  A constant question on the tire maintenance personnel's mind.  If too tight the orings can rupture after a few changes and if left too loose they will leak. Not an easy task/choice for tire maintenance personnel.

The TyreAid solution includes a specially designed connector which has a metal against metal (brass) sealing surface called a JIS-45 design. This ensures that the tire personnel cannot over tighten the sealing o-ring like on standard hoses. However, we built in a redundancy which is a BOSS design in the same fitting where there is an o-ring on the sealing surface which cannot be over tightened but will act as a backup seal in case of any imperfection in the brass connector. This also keeps the threads and connecting surfaces 100% free from dirt particles.

Quick & Easy to Install & Maintain

Since the system is totally self-contained there is no need to tap into the truck electrical wiring except for the in-cab receiver’s 12v-24v power cord.  The Radio Frequency signal is so powerful that no repeaters or external antennas are needed for trailers or longer length trucks. Our system can handle two full trailers behind the truck, like the Australian "road trains," without repeaters to be installed.   The safety valve flow restriction also makes the installation easier and you will not lose any measurable air pressure in the tire during initial installation.  It takes 5-10 minutes for installation per tire. Therefore, a truck with 10 wheels will take between 50 - 100 minutes to install. Depending if it is done in the service bay with power tools or outside in the parking lot.

There is no complicated programming involved. Our unit works right out of the box but can be programmed to only see the wheel ends of that vehicle. This programming takes about 3 seconds per wheel with a simple press of the sensor's test button on the TyreAid device.

We have full confidence in our TyreAid system because it is designed for HD use in every detail

Our system is designed to withstand the toughest environments any vehicle will see. We know that the sun does not shine everyday and the trucks may go from dirt and mud at 120⁰F (50⁰C) to freezing conditions with 30⁰F below. (-35⁰C). We can handle all road salt and solvents used on today’s highways and washing the trucks. The Housing is made of hard anodized aluminum (MIL-A-8625 Type III AMS 2469) all electrical contact surfaces are silver or gold plated.

Even our battery has a 10-year life expectancy if the tires are within pressure range. However, if ever needed, changing the battery takes less than 1 minute and additional batteries can be ordered when needed directly from our website at $3.00 each.

We didn’t cut any corners as we designed this system to be the most reliable and toughest on the market.

TyreAid vs Inflation Systems

“Are Tire Inflation Systems providing truck fleets with a false sense of security?”

TyreAid recently concluded a year-long field survey to find out why sections of truck tires are cluttering major roadways and breakdown lanes continue increasing in length and frequency. We uncovered an undetectable internal problem caused by inflation systems. These inflation systems have been installed by fleets under the belief that they would control their tire underinflation problems and reduce expensive road service calls, but an underlying problem puts them at greater risk for exactly those issues.

If a tire picks up a nail or other sharp object that penetrates the thread and casing, the penetration creates a slow air leak 90% of the time. During slow leaks, an inflation system will continue to inflate the tire to the proper PSI and there is no reasonable way for the driver or management to know there is a problem. The air inside the tire tries to escape from the casing trough the puncture; the air pressure slowly forces its way into the original penetration point between the casing and re-tread surfaces. The increasing pressure slowly separates the two surfaces and eventually will separate the entire tread from the casing, often causing damage to the equipment and surrounding vehicles on the road (See pictures below).

To resolve this problem, we recommend the TyreAid Safety System.  TyreAid does not hide tire pressure problems and will instead report them while they are still reparable with a simple patch. TyreAid has also combined a GPS asset tracker and TPMS underinflation tire monitor into a compact corrosive resistant transmitter that has its own independent power source, is easily installed on the end of the axle hub, and provides a five year warranty.

TyreAid is not limited only to trailers & container chassis but can be easily installed on power equipment as well.  Additionally, there is no monthly fee for our GPS feature.

Other Important Features

  • Relocates pressure check points. When checking the pressure of the dual tires, one normally has to uncomfortably kneel on the ground to locate the position of the inner valve stems. We have relocated the check point to the center of the axle hub for ease of access.

  • Low tire pressure warning is displayed in five ways:

  1. Inside the truck, for the driver to be alerted of a low tire (Both visual & audible alerts)

  2. Outside the truck by a flashing LED on wheel end for maintenance personnel and driver to identify which Tire is underinflated.

  3. Receiver device (handheld)

  4. From back office via GPS link (we are compatible with most popular tracking systems on the market today)

  5. By optional GPS/GSM system which sends text messages or emails giving exact information of an underinflated tire at which vehicle, time and exact GPS location. A click on the location coordinates on the message will take you to Google maps indication of the exact location.

  • Can be read by handheld remote Receiver. Tire and maintenance personnel have remote readers and can easily see any low tire in a 200-300 ft radius

  • No need for "pairing" truck and trailer. Many Trucking companies have many more trailers than tractors and, therefore, the same trailer is not always paired with the same tractor. Our system allows you to swap trailers and the system still works perfectly without any additional procedures required.

  • GPS trigger. If the company is using a GPS Tracking system, our system gives a trigger to the onboard system informing of a low tire, and the central office will then immediately know which truck is driving with underinflated tires. (Software integration work may be required by your GPS supplier.)
